Action Jackson

My sweet Action just turned One on August 31. Where in the heck has this year gone? Oh yeah, been traveling around the country. I was a bit worried that this little guy would be the end of me on this long cross ocean/cross country trip, but he's actually been better behaved than the other two. He stayed in his car seat and had a grand time for pretty much the whole trip. I don't think he would do this good now, however. He's discovered the furniture, and boy does he love to climb! We have a Japanese step "tonsu". It's a beautiful step chest. I have it set up like a pyramid with the TV sitting at the top. He has been caught almost to the top of it several times. We have two speakers set up on the second step from the top. They're not very big speakers. He starts his climb and they always come tumbling down on his forehead. Does this stop him or teach him any lessons whatsoever? Not a chance! He continues his climb. The other day, I was sitting on the couch and he started climbing. I put my finger out to shake at him and I said, "Jackson, No NO NO". He stuck out his pointer finger at me and said, "uh-oh, uh-oh" and with that big smile, well, it was all over for me. I hid my face in a pillow and had a good laugh.

We celebrated his first birthday pretty quietly. We moved into our house 2 days before, so I was lucky to find candles for the cake. But I put one candle on his little cake and as you see, in the first picture he was excited, but then he reached out to explore the pretty fire, and in the second picture you can see the result! Poor little guy. Gosh, I'm just in love with my little Action Jackson. Nicknames for Jackson: Action, Jacksonian, J-man, baby boy.
