You know, I have boys...so I thought I would see it all, cuts, bruises, problems with peepee around the toilet and dirt in the mouth. Well, I had another one of those can't believe it moments.......with my sweet GIRL, Abby.
The other morning, the kids got up at around 6 am and were playing with Jackson. He was chasing them and they were trying to hide from him. Next thing I know, Jacob comes into wake me up to tell me that Abby had an accident. I got up and found Abby in the bathroom with her underpants off crying because she went potty in them. I said where did you go on the floor? She said, "On the freezer", I thought she meant NEAR the freezer. We have a floor freezer in the laundry room and as I walked downstairs to the laundry room I saw little wet feetprints on the floor going to the laundry room door. I go inside and there is a puddle on TOP of the freezer (this thing comes up to my waist). Then I look around on the floor and there is some dripping, but not very much. So, I lift the lid and....there is FROZEN peepee alllllllll over the inside of the freezer. Yes, I said FROZEN peepee. So, luckily I had room enough in my regular freezer and emptied everything out, defrosted and cleaned it out. And luckily I had David home to get the kids on the bus so I could clean the mess. Wow. When is my vacation? Oh yeah, 2 months and 20 days.
The moments of life for a band groupie, band wife, road crew, band "manager", and MOM. It's all good, I'm with the BAND.

This is what happens
Kids are on spring break, too cold to play outside this morning, movie on, mommy wasting time on Facebook, putting off folding the laundry. Okay, I need to get to work around here, turn off facebook, go looking for a very quiet Jackson. Different combs all over the stairs, upstairs bathroom, Jackson looks around the back of the door, with that look, then runs into the bedroom and slams the door and locks it. This is what I find in the bathroom, the toilet paper roll has succumbed to Jackson's comb wrath.
So, then, mommy goes to find Jackson and "chat" about the toilet paper incident. Door is still locked. You can't hear in the video, but as I ask Jackson to open the door, I keep hearing "no, No, NO!" He finally comes out and is all of a sudden the sweetest little thing ever...oooh, he's so cute!

Mommy Vacation/House Hunting Trip
I'm kind of excited because I just booked a trip to Norfolk for July so I can go find us a place to live. We decided that it would #1 be too expensive for all of us to go, and #2, the kids would be hating life if we made them wander around looking at empty apartments. So, I get to go...yes, me, not David, because as I see it, he sleeps there and eats there most of the time, but I LIVE there, so I get to choose where we live. I just feel grateful that I have a husband that is very cool with my attitude about things like this. I am the queen of the house, and he doesn't mind one bit.
I get to go search for a place for us to live, and get a bit of time to myself. I'm kind of excited, but like I told my mom, when I actually hit the "buy this trip" button, I got a little butterfly in my stomach. I haven't had a trip like this ALL BY MYSELF, since David was in boot camp, pre-kids, almost 10 years ago! I'm a little weirded out by the thought of driving around a place I've never been to and acting like I know what I'm doing. Oh well, the break will be nice, and to have the house already chosen will be a blessing.
We will be leaving Newport around the 6th of August. David has to report to the school on September 6th, and the kids start school on September 8th. We are only assigned to this duty station for about 8 months, give or take a few weeks, and we don't have a sure thing for our next duty station yet, so we don't want to commit to any housing other than a simple, small, "hold-us-over" place. Enter in my stress level. In the past few days I've had 14 canker sores, NOT an exaggeration. Ouch.
I don't have any worries about moving again. I don't worry about making new friends, or being in a new place...for me the stress is NOW...when I have to start planning dates, times, and household goods move. I lay in bed at night thinking about what I have to move, where is it going to go, and how is it going to get there. Now granted, it's nice to have the Navy move you because they come in and pack everything up, drive away and show up at the destination and unpack it. However, when we move this time, we are facing some different challenges, because we are moving only for a short amount of time and to a smaller place. So the majority of our stuff will go to storage. Now, I'm going to have to plan out what to pack, what to take and what can be thrown out, and I have to do it now and not knowing exactly where we're going to live or for how long. We will have to have the movers come less than a week after I get back from the house hunting trip.
I'm going to do it, and it's all going to go smooth, but in the mean time...I'm tired, time for bed.
