Thank-FULL

Wow, this has been a great two weeks of Thanksgiving. I've had a house full and a great time. It's all over as of this morning, so now I get to write about it so I can live it again.
A couple of weeks ago, David's parents flew in. It started our holiday out fantastic to have them here. Grandma and I started baking and cooking and it was so fun to learn from her and be with her! Grandpa had fun with the boppers. One night we came into the living room to a pile of laughing hyenas. Grandpa, Jacob and Abby were reading a Garfield comic book and laughing hysterically. It was so funny to watch!

Thanksgiving morning, my Dad and step-Mom flew in and we spent the day visiting and cooking some more. We had our feast on Friday since my parents came in on Thursday...we were expecting them later in the day and so planned on the dinner for Friday, but it worked out with the airlines differently. Anyway, before Friday could get going in the kitchen, I braved the cold New England morning and the crazy crowds to venture out on "Black Friday". I had made plans for both Grandma's to go with me, but our appointed departure time of 4:45 am rolled around and I was all by my lonesome with my shoes on, so I left everyone asleep and went on a mission. I braved the NEX for a $100 Garmin navigator (totally love it so far, by the way), and then to Wal-Mart for some kids' toys and goodies. When I got home, the kitchen was hopping.

We baked all day and ate all day and had a wonderful meal. David and I decided for our Christmas present we would get ourselved a new dining table. We were really growing out of our round one. A few months ago, we purchased a beautiful rectangle table. It was a great blessing on our Thanksgiving day, everyone fit around it with room to spare.

With all the Thanksgiving feast over with, we got ready for Sunday. My sweet son Jacob got baptized on Sunday, November 30. It was a beautiful day. I sang a duet with a friend in Sacrament meeting, "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing". It was awesome. Jacob's baptism was wonderful. The Grandma's gave talks, Grandpa Bee gave a prayer, and Grandpa Ward played "The Lord's Prayer" on Trombone. Our ward supported us so much, it was just a great day.

On Monday, I got the Christmas itch and put up all our decorations. It was fun with all the help! I decided to go purple this year. I don't know why, just in the mood. I've been collecting purple ornaments and beads for several months. So, the tree is beautiful! I love it! The pictures don't do it justice, it's very pretty!

Tuesday, Grandma and Grandpa Ward left to return to Utah...sniff. They are always missed from our home. Me, Jackson, Grandpa and Grandma Bee went out for an adventure in Newport. We visited three of the beautiful mansions. They are just amazing places. I can't believe anyone lives that way.

Thursday night, Abby was honored at Barnes & Noble, along with some of her other classmates, with the Principal's Award. She was selected for the award for good conduct, and hard work in the classroom. She was excited until we got up to the principal to recieve the award in front of everyone. She got very nervous and wouldn't shake hands with the principal. What a sweetie.
Friday night, the Grandparents and me and the kids drove about an hour away to Groton, CT to see David in a Navy Band Christmas Concert. It was fun to see him play and my Dad and Judy really enjoyed being a part of that.

Dad and Judy left this morning...sniff. No fun when all the excitement is over. I came home from the airport to laundry up to the roof and homework up the ears...yikes, back to life.
Christmas is upon us...maybe I'll get my cards out by New Years'....

Speaking of New Years', David has been booked on a New Years' Eve gig. He'll be playing a 1920's Speakeasy dance and show at the Astor's Beechwood Mansion in Newport. It's a fancy, 7 course dinner, show and dance. Tickets are $225 per person! This year, they gave David a ticket for me!!! So, my friends here are all pitching in services and ideas to turn me into a 1920's Flapper, with fringe, feathers and cute 20's hairdo for the evening! I'm so excited! Pictures to come later!

Looks like you guys had a lot of fun! I love your purple tree, too. I've always wanted to do a themed tree but I can't bring myself to not put up our traditional ornaments. Maybe someday when I have a big house and can have 2 trees I will do it! :D
