I had a phone call from my dad today in between conference sessions. Other than David and Jennifer Mello, he's the only one I've talked to on the phone all week and the only one I've talked to today. After the hello's and whatcha up to's, I unloaded the details of my INSANE week. I thought I'd unload it here so the next one to call me doesn't get an earful.
Friday, March 28: Jacob woke up in the night throwing up. It ended up all down the side of the bunk bed and stunk up the place, so he slept with David in our bed, and me and Abby slept on the floor in another room. Friday morning, took the laundry down to wash and accidentally threw my cell phone into the full of water washing machine. Had to go get a new phone, a downgrade cuz AT&T is so understanding...not.
Saturday, March 29: Jacob seems okay today, but lazy day at home washing bedding. Cleaned out the truck for the first time since we got it...yuck...had fun listening to an 80's mix on the MP3 player plugged in to the truck, later when I was done, the truck battery was dead.
Sunday, March 30: David stayed home from church with Jacob and Jackson. Abby and I went to meetings so I could teach my Valiants. Sunday night about 10:30 pm, David is packing for his 9-day high school tour and Jacob throws up again. About 30 minutes later, Jackson started it, too. We made a big bed on the floor Jackson, Me in the middle and Jacob. Abby sleeps with David in our bed. Jacob throws up through the night.
Monday, March 31: David leaves for Syracuse, NY for 9 days. Jacob throws up all day. Abby starts throwing up in the afternoon. Jackson seems okay. I start with killer nausea, but fight off the bathroom visits. We all watched TV for 8 hours. Washed more sheets, towels, and pillowcases.
Tuesday, April 1: Jackson threw up all night. Abby threw up most of the day. More TV, movies, laundry and nausea.
Wednesday, April 2: Everyone doing a bit better. Still washing laundry. Jackson starts coughing at dinner, throws up again. Jackson in bed with me, I'm so exhausted, he falls off the bed before I can wake up and catch him.
Thursday, April 3: Jacob back to school, he's doing much better. Abby and Jackson doing pretty good. Had to get out of the house, so went to eat at IHOP...pancakes can't hurt right? Get home and ready for bed, Jackson is drawing with a pen, shoves it into his mouth too far, and throws up the pancakes all over the floor. Jackson up in the night again about 4 times, just whining.
Friday, April 4: Pouring rain most of the day, but out of milk, eggs, etc...venture out the Stop & Shop for groceries. Jackson and Abby have awful coughs. Abby up at 3 am with stuffy nose, gets in bed with me, Jackson joins us at 5:30 am not wanting to sleep anymore.
Saturday, April 5: Made homemade pizza in the morning, watched conference. Jackson can't allow me to leave his sight without complete meltdown. Everyone else doing great. Saturday night went to bed at 10:15, woke up 30 minutes later to Jackson throwing up AGAIN. Changed him, put him in bed with me. Tons of pillows around so he doesn't fall again. He wakes up at 3:30, crying and then major diaper blast. Changed him from diarrhea diapers 7 times in 3 hours, and two pairs of jammies. Jacob and Abby sleep through the night.
Sunday, April 6: Have changed Jackson 9 times today with the runs. Abby started diarrhea today, too. Jacob still good and begging for leftover pizza. Abby and Jackson still with hacking coughs. Conference was the highlight. On the edge of my seat to see how tonight goes.
So, stomach flu? That's my guess. It spread through here like crazy and add on top of that, we have had David mostly around for 4 months, getting buddy buddy with Jackson especially, and all of a sudden he leaves for a stinkin week and everyone is throwing up, fighting like cats and dogs, and having meltdowns every time I turn around. What's going on with the universe? Is it a full moon times 20? Hopefully, this will be the end of my lovely "week in review"... I'm praying for boring for a while.

Oh Sheila, we went through the same thing here at Christmas, we rented the steam cleaner 3 times in a one week period of time. Liam had it for over 2 weeks while lorenzo's lasted about a week and Jeremy and I were feeling better within a few days although we did take jeremy to the er as he thought he was going to die. I have never been through anything like it and hope to never again. I am so sorry David was not there to help at all. it never fails that when they leave all heck breaks out. I hope you can get some rest.
Sorry you guys had such a rough week. Hopefully it will be over soon :)
Sheila,
I am so sorry. Hopefully everyone is feeling a little bit better.
