Thanks to all my sweet sisters who left words of encouragement about my "full moon" week. I appreciate it! Things are looking up. The stuff isn't hitting the fan anymore, now we have green goo oozing from the noses, but after last week, I'll take the green goo! :) David comes home tomorrow and the kids are bouncing off the walls for that. Unfortunately, he'll only be home 2 days before he leaves again...talk about torture..you know if I was running the navy band, they would have to camp out at the band building until they were totally done with their out of town business. This in and out stuff day by day is just ridiculous.
Anyway...sorry if I sounded negative. just a mom in the trenches and an exhausted one at that, but I'm better now.
I'm planning an anniversary trip for David and I for our tenth wedding anniversary this summer. He said he's been everywhere and would rather stay home. Whatever, I told him, you're going to go with me and you're going to like it. My mom is coming out for two weeks and is going to take the kids for a few days while we go off and play. Then I'll take my mom to New York City for a few days to say thanks for taking the kids. She's so excited and so am I! I haven't spent more than a few days with my mom in the last 10 years.
Anyway, my question is this. I'm a bit stumped for the anniversary trip. I, of course, would kill to go to the Dominican Republic or somewhere tropical and different, but the air fare alone is a killer. Plus, David has been to Thailand, Australia and Malaysia, so, nothing really excites him about that. So, I'm trying to find something different, not far from home, that would make me happy and get him in the mooooood....
A few places I've thought of so far...please send me your thoughts, commments, suggestions, and knowledge of awesome places to visit!
The Ceasers Palace Resort in Mt. Poconos, PA:

Washington, DC: I think it would be fun to go to all the museums and historical places and just be able to linger, no kids! As for a cool hotel that doesn't have a brand name, I'm stumped. Right now, price wise, the Navy Lodge is looking pretty good!
Some out of the way jazz festival in the mountains?
Give me some ideas people!

I would go to Block Island. Nathan and I went out there just for the day once and it was fun. You can rent (or take) bikes and bike around the island. There are beaches, cute little shops, great restaurants. You catch the ferry at Fort Adams, and that is a nice ride out too. You can go to blockisland.com, blocksislandinfo.com, or blockislandchamber.com for more info and ideas of what to do.
And as for how to add a link. It looks like this: Check out my othersite
When you add it you have to make sure you have clicked on Edit HTML button when you are typing your post. (it is on the upper right hand corner of the post typing field)
ok...so when I typed in the HTML code it actually made the link...so it looks like this:
Check out my < a h r e f = " h t t p : / / w w w . w e b a d d r e s s g o e s h e r e . c o m / > o t h e r s i t e < / a >
Just take out all the spaces (I put one between each letter/character...the only place their should be a space is "a href"
If David doesn't want to go anywhere, you could always check out any cool bed and breakfast's places that are close by. They're great and cozy, especially for getting in "the mood". Wink, Wink!!
I know you're taking your mom to NYC, but maybe you and David could go and check out any Broadway shows (if David is into things like that.), then afterward....well you know what I mean.
Love ya--

If you want to stay close the Bristol Harbor Inn is beautiful and the rooms (not all, so make sure you ask) have great views of the bay.
