My Laurels

This past weekend I took 6 of my Laurels to Washington, D.C. for a Stake Laurels Standards Activity. It was awesome. At first I thought that the trip was a waste and why don't they just have the speakers come here. But, I learned that the actual drive was part of the fun and bonding. I had a great chance to talk to the girls and get to know them better.

Being near the temple was also priceless. We were in the visitor's center which has a big window where you can stand and look at the temple in full view. The program was awesome and spiritual. The theme of the weekend was "When, Not If." The focus was to get the girls to decide that they can say WHEN they will go to the temple, not IF. All the speakers talked about different reasons for wanting a temple marriage and the gifts of the temple. It was just wonderful. I felt grateful for the girls, the message, the temple and especially my very own temple marriage, which after almost 12 years is still a blessing beyond my greatest expectations.

I'm so grateful for the temple, the blessings of marriage, and the message that I helped to share with these fantastic girls! What a great weekend!
