Basketball

Thanks for all the great comments on my last post about politics. It's just all so interesting and sometimes mind numbing isn't it? It's really interesting to me, too, how people who are very similar in many ways, can be very different in their views of people and life issues. And the good part of all that is, we can still be different and love love love each other! :)

Today was our last basketball game. David and I have been coaching Jacob's team. It's a YMCA/Navy MWR League. In the 6-7 division there were 10 teams this year!!! We felt bad that there weren't going to be enough coaches, so I volunteered us...David...for coaching job. He did a fantastic job and we really did have a lot of fun. I am glad it's done, but we won't rule out doing it again next year. Attached is a picture of the "Orange Crushers". Today, after the game, we gave the kids their tropies, team pictures, and little treats and gifts from us. One of the parents came up to David and shook his hand and told him how great he was and how they really enjoyed our team this year. They gave him a card made and signed by all the kids on the team and a gift card for $30 to a local restaraunt! How nice was that! So, now we will of course have to go out on a date and use our gift card!

Speaking of dates...on Thursday, Valentines' Day, David will be at home with the boppers, while I go to represent the both of us at a training meeting for our new "team" calling of Den Leaders for Cub Scouts. My first question about the training was, yeah, that's Valentines' Day, but apparently no one really cares about that, and since I have no clue whatsoever about Cub Scouts, I'm off for my big V-Day date with the Cub Masters...ugh...they better have chocolate for dessert!

Hi Sheila! It's Heather, Judy's daughter. She gave me your link when I told her about the blog I just started! It's good to get to know you better. Sounds like you're enjoying East Coast life. We've always wanted to visit there, but traveling for fun has to wait a few years! I hope we can get to know each other better through blogging! heather

Guess What, Jeremy was released as Elders q. pres yesterday and called as our new Cub master/den leader. How funny is that! I am the 2nd C. in primary and oversee the cub scouts but still am getting to know the program. But hey, we can all learn together. There is a lot of info online!
p.s. The stroller I bought was a schwinn, and it is great! It is a little strange just having one at home in the day, but I also seem to get a lot more done. I do not know what I will do when Liam goes to preschool next year, probably sit and cry the first week!
