While I stand by my "expert"..ha..analysis of the liberal media, I admit I wasn't as educated as I should have been before I ranted about some of this year's candidate. I did however go and educate myself a bit on those candidates I don't know well. I won't go into what I learned, hopefully from reliable sources, but I will say I still continue to wish the rest of the country could see beyond that media and vote for Mitt Romney...however, I don't think it's going to go that way, but it's not over yet. I never thought I'd say I would like to not vote for anyone in my party, but if it's not Mitt, I won't be voting in my party and most likely not in the other party either. I don't trust Hillary for one second, she proved herself, to me at least, during her husband's tenure in the Oval Office. As for Obama, I'm not sure yet, I do agree with some of the things he stands for, but I'm having a hard time understanding his voting history on the late-term abortion issue. I'll do some more learning about that, too.
So, an apology if I offended anyone. I deleted the previous blog of a ranting republican.
Just as a side note, I have been studying in the book of 1 Nephi and today I read chapter 22. It helped me put into perspective this whole political election thing. Nephi is talking about the second coming. Verse 22 says, "And the righteous need not fear, for they are those who shall not be confounded...". I hope and pray that I can be counted among the righteous, or really striving to be, and not the confounded. Then verse 25: "And he gathereth his children from the four quarters of the earth; and he numbereth his sheep, and they know him; and there shall be one fold and one shepherd." I also pray that I will KNOW the shepherd and be numbered in the fold and then I won't care one hoot or holler about which "party" I belong to now!

I hope I didn't make you feel bad :( I was just having some fun throwing some political banter your way...
McCain scares me...I think he is a loose cannon...I worry what wars we might get into with his 'finger on the button'
I too have struggled with the late term abortion stuff with Obama...but I agree with almost everything else he promotes so I figure that isn't bad.
I am proud of you for doing some research!! :)
I do not think you need to apologize for anything. You did not offend me and I hope I did not give that impression. I have already put my foot in my mouth when it comes to politics with another friend of mine. I have just decided to keep my mouth shut so I do not offend anyone lol!! I am one of the undecided as there are things I like about most of the people running and things that I do not like about them too so who knows. I am reading A Mormon in the White house, but as it looks like Mitt may be pulling out that will not help me much. I have already read a coupe of books one by McCain himself that I really enjoyed and did help me see him in a different light. As for the democrats I am just a little too conservative to share views with Obama but am not closing the door yet on Clinton.
You know, it's interesting that many more people are talking about politics and and getting involved this year. We think it's great.
We personally don't agree with any of the major candidates right now. We think McCain is a slime ball, that the Clintons are drunk on power (you know it won't be just Hillary in the White House) and Obama bothers us.
With Obama, we were listening to the New Hampshire democratic debates. Obama was talking about about something and the middle class and he capped the middle class at those making $75,000 a year. We consider ourselves middle class and make more than that. You almost have to in order for the family to have a stay at home parent.
The biggest problem we have with the democrat candidates deal with health care. I'm sorry, but I don't want mandates where everyone has to have health care -- and who pays the bill? Those "rich" people makeing over $75,000 a year? These people end up paying double. They pay premiums for company sponsered health care, then must also pay premiums for other people's health care through the additional taxes they pay because they make over $75,000 a year. Medicare is not the greatest health insurance, and they would basically force medicare on everyone. How would that get us better coverage? I know health care is a big issue and agree it must be resolved, but mandating socialized medicine is not the answer.
For that reason and the socialized programs democrats push, we can't support the democratic candidates. We also can't support the current republican candidate, so I guess we will go with Briana and go independant this year.
