Jacob Golden

Jacob Golden Ward was born on September 11, 2000. He was 7 lbs. 15 oz. Jacob was born on my father-in-laws birthday, so we named him after J. Golden Ward.

Jacob is NINE today...

On his first birthday, I spent the morning watching Manhattan survive a terrorist attack, and wondering when David would be allowed off the base at Coronado. I also spent the morning on the phone with my good friend who's husband was on his way home from a 6 month deployment. It wasn't for sure that they would get to come home or turn around and go help in NYC. Nothing was for sure in those few days.

Jacob was oblivious to the whole thing then, but now he always asks me to tell him again and again what happened on his birthday. He's still a little confused about the USA and Japan being different countries, it's all just places we've lived to him.

Jacob is a competitive, sports loving, passionate, tender boy. He is a picky eater and always has been! His favorite foods are pizza, ramen noodles, Yakiniku (Korean BBQ), and Reese's peanut butter cups.

Jacob loves to drum...who would've thunk it? :) He has good rhythm and time, but needs to work on his commitment to practicing the basics...he wants to be a rock star right now, but what boy doesn't?

Jacob is always wanting to be a good boy and follow the rules. He loves to cuddle and makes sure everyone knows how much he loves them. He's a fantastic big brother, a hard-working cub scout, and a son that I treasure and love.

Happy Birthday...Jacob, Little Mister, King of the wild frontier...Love, MOM
