After 3 months of practicing, driving over two hours, (highway car accident delays), playing for all of 10 minutes on mallet instruments, and two hours of waiting, the audition is over...no drumset, no interview, nothing, it's over and he's on his way home.
So, Virginia, here we come. There must be a reason.

Oh Sheila, I am so sorry. We were certainly praying for David to get this! Almost makes it seem like they already knew who they wanted and just went through a formality ... all at the expense of those who worked so hard. We all know David deserved to get this. Darn it! I told Alice and J.Golden that if David in fact won the audition, I would be so jealous of only one thing ... that you guys got to stay in my beloved state of Connecticut! Darn it ... darn it ... darn it.

I had no idea that you were going to be in RI for such a short time. Norfolk? Isn't that near Williamsburg? Well, if it is, you are in for a treat! It is such a beautiful area. We went for a a week or so with friends when we lived in Philly and fell in love with the place. We actually even talked about moving there permanently, and still talk a lot about VA. We just really liked it there. I'm sort of jealous. Who knows, maybe we'll settle there in 2 years after Owen finishes his residency. BTW, Buche Gardens is near there, and we went to the best water park right near Norfolk if not right there in Norfolk. You should get a season pass--it was so much fun!
I am sorry that David didn't get the gig, but Virginia was nice. And who knows, maybe after the school you guys can come to Chicago!! :) (pretty, pretty please)
